While the code wasn’t one that caused a massive Y2K like blackout, users did discover that the emulator began to suck huge amounts of bandwidth and data, which may have caused users some serious problems with the mobile phone bills, and dramatically impacted speed and performance of their devices.
The recommendation is now to avoid MegaN64 emulator. If you have it, uninstall it unless you have the technical chops to get in there and get rid of the bad stuff.
