In this quick tutorial article, we’ll show you how you can play this story-driven adventure game Oceanhorn for PC (Windows 8/10 and Mac).
Oceanhorn Game Review
Are you a fan of the Zelda games? If so, you’ll like Oceanhorn. The premise of the game is this: the main character finds that his father is gone, and the only clues left behind are a journal and a piece of jewelry. From there, you’ll explore a world full of danger, puzzles, and secrets. You’ll fight monsters, use magic, and acquire treasure.
This game will keep you coming back for more with its interesting story, good looking 3D visuals, and engaging gameplay.
Users agree. Oceanhorn’s Google Play Store rating is a respectable .0 out of 5 stars. The game is free to download and contains ads and in-app purchases. It has been installed more than a million times, and is rated for Everyone 10+ due to fantasy violence.
Please note: primary complaints about the game include the presence and quantity of ads, and the requirement that you must pay to play.
UPDATE: Further investigation confirms that the free version of this game is more like a “trial” than a free game with ads. You get to play a small portion of the game for free, and if you want to continue you do have to spend money. This may be fine for some, but others find this to be an unacceptable bait-and-switch. What we recommend is that you play the free part of the game and then decide after experiencing the gameplay whether you want to invest in the rest of it.
How to Play Oceanhorn for PC?
If you have decided to invest in Oceanhorn and play it all the way to the end, it makes sense to get it set up on your desktop computer. The primary way you can do this until the games is officially released for Windows or Mac is through the use of an android emulator.
The emulator imitates the android system on your desktop computer or laptop. We like them because they are free and easy to use, and don’t require a lot of tech experience.
There are several emulator options on the market but we like recently updated version of Bluestacks (Bluestacks 4). Just make sure to check the minimum specifications/requirements for your system, as most emulators do not work well on older computers.
To get started playing Oceanhorn for Windows, here’s what you need to do:
- Choose your emulator
- Download and install your emulator on your Windows machine
- Launch the emulator
- Within the emulator, go to where you have the apk file stored, or navigate to the google play store
- Download and install the game
- Launch and Play
